Golf Bunker Play

Rather than see the golf ball actually land in the deep rough, the professional golfer would rather face the customary greenside bunker shot any day of the week. However, if you talk to most golfers who don’t play for a living, than you will hear one horror story after another regarding greenside bunker shots. The difference of opinion is actually quite simple. The golf professionals know how to use their sand wedge suitably, work the golf club through the sand and make a few minor adjustments to their stance. Not only is it not too difficult if you give greenside bunkers some practice, but once you are confident and comfortable with escaping from greenside bunkers, it offers the green light to attach more flags on the approach golf shots, which can lead to lower scores.

The short bunker blast drives you insane, although it’s a fairly easy shot. However, the impulse to scoop the golf ball out rather than slide the club face under it can lead to a skulled shot that sours beautifully over the golf green. This can be eliminated by practicing explosive shots with a simple adjustment to the grip referred to as “the anti-skull grip”. First, you take your normal left-hand grip, and then wrap your right hand around the fingers of your left. You can’t flip the golf club upward with this hand-over-hand grip. Once you hit several golf shots this way, then you can return to your normal grip as you keep your left arm in check as done during practice. As you achieve this, watch your bunker shots really begin to take flight.

With short-sided sand shots, too many golf players make tentative swings that leave the golf ball in the sand, when the golf ball is in a bunker with the hole only a few tempting feet away. Actually, there are two effective methods to hit a short bunker shot. The first is to take twice as much sand and make a really aggressive golf swing. Instead of entering the sand two inches behind the golf ball, which is usually done on a normal sand shot, make it about four inches. The important factor to remember is to make an aggressive swing.

The more difficult, second method is to “pop shot”. With your hands and writs, lift the golf club abruptly. Imagine you’re throwing a blade with your right hand as you bury the clubhead into the sand directly behind the golf ball. As long as the golf club cuts into the sand several inches behind the golf ball, the golf ball will certainly pop out However, beware that the “pop shot” does take practice.

Finally, for more spin, you can rotate the golf clubface open about 45 degrees. This will gradually work your stance open usually until the club’s leading edge faces its target. You can use a long, sweeping golf swing from there to get that nip you need to place extra spin on the golf ball.

The history of Premier league

The Premier League – professional league competition for football clubs. It is the most watched league around the world, which attracts millions of viewers and provides a challenge for the top football players. Millions of viewers search the Net as they look for Premier League streaming video, and read the Premier League news articles. It was formed in 1992 from the Football League first division, which has been the highest division of the Football League, and the highest division of English football. Breaking away from the first division has been a milestone for the professional competition, which symbolized a new era in English professional football.

The English Premier League was given the right to negotiate broadcast and sponsorship agreement, which was an essential step towards commercial independence. In several years The Premier League became the most lucrative football league in the world; the league annual revenue was approximately 1.8 billion £. The League charged fans to watch sport on television, assigning television rights to SKY TV, which was a major commercially successful step. Sponsorship helped the Premier League to grow and develop. The sponsor determined the league’s sponsorship name: Carling, Barclaycard and Barclays gave their family names to the competitions sponsored by them. The investments paid off, allowing Premier League to invite the top players from all over the world.

Today, the Premier League is presented worldwide on networks in more than 200 countries. It gained freedom of signing the best players from the highest possible categories, owing this to the promotion of the League and large investment; nowadays Premier league soccer is England’s primary football competition.

Bluegills, Trout, Walleyes, and Catfish

BlueGills, The Basics

Bluegills are popular game to go for because they are plentiful across the continent. Another reason they are popular is because they go for a variety of natural bait and artificial bait. They usually opt for areas with clear water and reasonable weed growth.

** Quick Tip: No matter what kind of fish you go for, and no matter what conditions you fish (ice fishing included), the 1947 “Evening Secret” (http://www.eveningsecretfishing.com/specialsecret/BlueGills_Trout_Walleyes.php) will bring the fish to you, it really is an impressive tool that every fisherman worth his salt should own.

Typically they like water from 50 degrees up to 90, and can even be taken through ice! But, the best time to get them is when the water is around 70 degrees. It is then that they become aggressive because they are ready to spawn. You can find nests from about 2 – 12 feet deep.

When it is warmer, fish early and/or late in the day, especially if you are in shallow water. Bigger bluegills can be found in deeper water, and can be up to 20 feet below the surface. When fishing lily pads, approach it as if you were going for bass. Work the points, pockets and indentations where there is open water.

Make sure to fish with small hooks and bait. They have small mouths and have a hard time taking in larger bait.

Great baits to use are pieces of earthworm, crickets, grasshoppers, grubs, wax worms, minnows, leeches, and even sandwich meat. If you go the artificial route, use tiny jigs and spinner baits.

There isn’t really a need to use more than 2-pound test line – maybe up to 4-pound maximum. As you may know, light lines make the bait appear more lifelike.

They are easily spooked so make longer casts if you are on foot, stay a bit back from the shore. If you are in a boat, be careful and quiet.

After you get a strike, don’t act too quickly. Wait a second before lifting the rod – you will hook more this way.

Walleyes, Use Waders At Night

It is fairly well known that Walleyes favor low-light conditions. They can be found in water only 3-4 feet deep looking for perch. Using a pair of waders you can go for them.

Some recommendations are to use a light spinning rod equipped with 8-12 pound test line, and some minnow imitations.

You can find them at points where deep water is near. Scout for baitfish feeding on plankton – sooner or later the Walleyes will show up.

Trout, Midges

If your luck is not good with early season trout, try a few patterns of midges. Mosquito larva or pupa, in sizes 12-20 is good. If it is early in the season, fish it deep.

Catfish, Bait

Follow these steps to make a bait catfish just can’t resist:

  • 1 pound of chicken livers (including blood)
  • 1 cup of yellow cornmeal
  • While mixing with hands (squeeze hard), add more cornmeal until a sticky paste forms
  • Add cotton balls, pulling apart each one and add clumps to mixture (use 12, they keep everything together in the water)
  • Add more cornmeal until you can make individual balls without them sticking to your hand
  • Freeze until ready

To bait up, pinch some dough and set it on your hook – catfish will go crazy for this mixture!

Take your Go Carting Off the Street

There are those that understand and have the passion and those that do not, but for either type of person is it obvious that off-road go carting attracts an audience of loyal and up-beat drivers. Both the young and young at heart ride go carts off-road purely for the thrill of it. Advocates of off-road go carting get a satisfaction from tumbling over the rough terrain in their carts designed specifically for that purpose. For many, the thrill is the only purpose behind their hobby of off-road go carting, but other still thrive on the competitive aspect of it.

Off-road go carts is a broad category in many aspects, from the designs of the carts to the type of people interested in the sport. Because of this the off road category of go carting is split into even more precise classifications, depending on the type of off roading a person participates in. The most noticeable separation of off-road go carting are the cart designs.

For the drivers who enjoy a recreational cruise through the mud or just like carting up and down the beach, off-road go cart designs are not as high profile as those used for hard core off roading or go cart racing. The off-road race drivers place much more attention on the mechanics of the go carts. Go carts with the best suspension system, highest torque and largest horsepower will be the carts that offer the best ride through the rough.

Unlike most street racing go carts, off-road carts have brush bars and a tall safety flag, which are just of few of extra safety features included on most all off roading go carts. For street racers, the brush bars and other features added on the body of a go cart are unreasonable when trying to achieve greater arrow dynamics. However, off-road carting requires a few more safety precautions to be taken because of the rough and bumpy ride the drivers endure.

Although the catching air and riding full throttle into a ditch is the fun and thrill that attracts people to off-road go carting, it is also the cause of the necessary safety equipment. The brush bars on many go carts are padded of additional protection, but even without padding the bars keep you more secure. The safety flag installed in the rear of off-road carts is needed to mark you cart among other riding the hills and valleys. Go cart flags help other drivers near by to spot in case you are on extra hilly terrain where you might drive in and out of sight through the valleys.

Though they are standard for many types of go carting, the three point safety belts on off-road carts are very helpful in keeping you in your seat when you hit those hard jumps. With the safety features covered, it is also important to remember that without quality performing engine and other mechanical parts, you entire purpose of thrill riding is defeated.

For this, manufacturers have come up with specialty features, such as the torque converter, for off-roading go carts. The torque converter senses different demands on the engine depending on terrain and is constantly varies to push for the most exciting ride. The more serious you become in the hobby of off-roading go carts, the more you will learn about the engine accessories you can have added to improve the off road performance.

Making Your Own Cornhole Set

The cornhole game is one that not everyone knows about. There are some parts of the country where it is much more popular than others. In these areas, individuals play it at parties and other events. It is played outdoors, and consists of a board with a hole in it and soft bags which are thrown into that hole to score points. The board can either be made of wood or plastic, but they are generally wooden. One of the best things about the cornhole set is that a person who likes working with his or her hands can actually build a cornhole board. He or she does not have to have a lot of fancy tools, and directions can be found on the Internet for free in many places. As long as good-quality wood is used and the instructions are followed, there is no reason why a quality cornhole set cannot be constructed. Even someone who does not have a lot of experience working with wood or tools can build his or her own cornhole set.

Some people will make their own cornhole board and then buy the bags. However, the bags can also be made quite easily. When the cornhole game was first invented, the bags were made of burlap, denim, or other strong cloth. They were stuffed with corn (hence the name cornhole) and they lasted a long time. Good quality bags that can be purchased today also last a long time. However, some bags are not good quality, and they wear out quickly. If a person wants to make his or her own cornhole set, he or she should make sure that the cloth that is used is strong enough to withstand a lot of use. In addition, though, it is very important to make sure that the cloth is also soft and flexible enough that the bags move and are easily tossed. Bags with no ‘give’ to them will be much more difficult to deal with. Strong but soft cloth is the key to making cornhole bags.

In addition to what cloth to use, a person must decide what to fill the bags with. Even though corn was used in the past, it is not always a good alternative today. Corn can eventually mold if it gets wet, and can cause other problems. After enough use, it will deteriorate. The same is true with small beans, which are another common filler for bags that are used for this kind of game. Many commercial sets today use plastic pellets to fill their bags. This avoids deterioration and break down, while still providing game players with basically the same kind of experience that they would get with a traditional, corn-filled bag. The size and weight of the bag, as well as its flexibility, are the most important issues which must be addressed when building one’s one cornhole set. If a person takes the time to build his or her cornhole set correctly, it will be much more enjoyable and last much longer.

Controlled Body Movement The Key Essential For Your Golf Game

Basic body movement is essential in any sport. Of course it is also essential for any type of physical activity we do.

As parents, we teach little children how to do the simplest of things. This includes how to move and how to control movements for precision and safety.

Basic body movement also means limiting movement to the essential movement for what you want to do. We control the desired movement. And, we prevent unwanted movement. We learn to keep our movements just firm enough to be coordinated. We also learn to allow just enough relaxation so the movements can flow through their proper range with the most comfort.

For many golfers, if you think about your hands doing something or even have much of your focus on your hands then, usually, you will do something incorrect with your hands.

Basic body movement, under control, is to be your main focus. When you become good at this part of your golf swing then can you try advanced hand movements. But, any of these hand movements should only be done in harmony with the dominant body and upper arm movements.

Even your arm movements need more focus in the early learning stages than any perceived hand movements. And, these arm movements should focus on movements generated in the upper arms which are as close to your body as possible.

A Special Lesson With A Good Golfer

A few years ago I did 2 golf lessons with a man who stood a little over 6 feet tall. He was having trouble spraying his hits with his mid-irons to his woods. I asked him to hit a ball with a wedge. He chose his 64 degree lob wedge and promptly hit a high, 95 yard hit.

What was he doing wanting a lesson from anyone? Answer: He had one wrong move that he wasn’t aware he was doing.

I used my interpretation of Fred Couples’ looping swing to guide him to the correct arm movement. When he tried my idea of Fred’s swing Andy hit the ball higher and 15 yards farther.

He did not want to develop that move but he understood how to correct his error with the proper movement. He hit a lot of good golf balls afterwards and knew why he did so.

Andy’s other problem involved chipping. He had a good hand movement in his chipping effort. He had no idea how to use that good movement with the movements of his body. As well, he had no idea of the importance of his body activity during his chipping.

A few minutes into the 2nd lesson he had learned how to time his hand movements with his body movements. He also learned where his hands should be in relation to his spine as he did the hand movements that he wanted.

His chipping improved dramatically within the lesson. His confidence was as high as possible that he could land a golf ball where he wanted. And, all it took was understanding how his arms and hands were to move in harmony with his body and also in relationship to his body position.

How I Developed My Understanding Of Basic Body Movement

I taught physical education from Grades 1 to 9. In one short span of time I could see the development of movement in all stages of growth. I could also see the physical and mental effort carried out by these children as they learned the skills and the games which I taught.

I used to teach the various Grades a level of a game which they could handle. I taught positional play in slow motion and then introduced body movements which enabled the students to move fluently up and down the playing surface. They quickly learned this and asked for more. That is when I taught the various skills. The game was taught first; and then came the skills.

In golf, there are a number of games played during a round.

  • We try to get a better score than someone else.
  • We try to get a personal best score during a round.
  • We try to play against the golf course to get a par round or better.
  • We try to get a better score than par on each hole.

BUT, usually forgotten is the game of playing each golf shot as good as we possibly can. It is this last “game” which I teach in my golf lessons.

The free articles combined with the instruction modules will teach you how to win “the game” of playing each hit during your round of golf.

Relating this to teaching golf swing skills I emphasize basic posture, alignment, control, and body movement. Arm and hand activity do not get taught until my students learn basic movements. Because of this, beginners and students who had never hit the ball in the air soon hit draws with even their short irons when they hit the ball over a fence.

You, The Ground, And The Golf Ball

We stand on the ground. The golf ball rests on the ground (er, usually). Before we try to dislodge that golf ball from its place on the ground we should learn a good method of relating what we do from our “perch” on the ground.

Between our connection to the ground and the ball’s position on the ground we have a lot of body mass and joints along with that “stick” thing. We need movement to make the golf ball move. Therefore, we swing back and forth to make the golf club move the ball. But, those joints want to do all sorts of contortions during our golf swing efforts.

We need to develop an understanding of how to move at the fewest possible joints and how to control or prevent movements of the rest of our joints. This is basic to anything we do. It is very important to this “confusing” skill called the golf swing.
